Colonsay Spring Festival wins major award

The Tourism Group are delighted to announce that Colonsay's Festival of Spring has just been announced as the winner of the 2020 Rural Award for Best Tourism Initiative. The award, supported by Scottish Field magazine and the Scottish Countryside Alliance, is of course bittersweet, as this year - its tenth - the festival had to be cancelled due to Covid-19. But it is fitting tribute to the hard work of Sarah Hobhouse - who has been the inspired and passionate mainspring of the Festival of Spring throughout its existence - as well as the unstinted support of the bevy of Experts and unsung workers who helped make it all happen. 

Under continuing Covid restrictions, the Festival going forward will by necessity be a different kind of experience, more outdoors than indoors, but will still aim to offer a fantastic mix of nature, foraging, culture and heritage. To find out more about what's planned, click here.
